Trainees are our investment in the future.
We look for people with something
to say for themselves, people with spark who can rise to a challenge
and make a difference whilst recognising and respecting the values
and aspirations of the firm and its people. Jones Day provides
an environment where ambition, drive and hard work are recognised
and rewarded.
We want you to be successful and continue the success
of the firm. From the start, you are encouraged to build relationships
with existing clients and develop contacts with people who may
become clients.
The building of relationships within the firm is also something
we place great emphasis on. We run an annual event that brings
together new associates and trainees from all the firm's offices
for three days in the US. This will give you an opportunity
to meet your contemporaries and other lawyers from many of the
other offices and to build up an understanding of the international
network.
Because of the training system, the step up from trainee to
qualification is barely noticeable. You'll be doing the same
type of work for the same clients and with the same people.
Our training system produces successful lawyers. We know that
from the number who have remained with the firm after qualification
and progressed to partnership.
Profiles of a selection of our trainees can be viewed by clicking on the drop-down boxes on the right.
If you wish
to apply for a training contracts commencing in September 2010 or March
2011, we will be accepting applications from final year law and non-law
students from November 1st 2007. If you are a penultimate year law undergraduate
you should apply between your penultimate and final years of study once
you have received your 2nd year exam results.
If you are interested in applying for our Spring or Summer placement
schemes we will open for applications on 31st October 2008. For more information
see placement schemes.
