The rewards as a trainee at Jones Day reflect the importance attached to the role of trainees in contributing to the business.

  • Starting salary:                        £39,000

    Salaries rise at six monthly intervals throughout the training contract

    6-12 months:                               £41,000
    12-18 months:                             £45,000
    18-24 months:                             £50,000
    Newly Qualified:                           £70,000

  • Sponsorship
    All our future trainees are sponsored through the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and the Legal Practice Course (LPC). Jones Day will pay all your fees for the GDL and LPC plus a maintenance grant of £8,000 per year.
  • Awards
    The Firm likes to recognise excellent academic achievement and awards £500 to future trainees who obtain a first class result in their degree, £350 for achieving a commendation in the LPC, and £750 for achieving a distinction in the LPC.
